Romesh visits IGC Samba, takes stock of manufacturing units

Employment Boards will be created at every industrial estate in the state for registering and employment of local unemployed youth in their respected areas.
This was stated by Minister of State for Industries and Commerce Dr. Romesh Chander Sharma during the inspection of Industrial Growth Centre at Samba today.
The Minister went round the centre and took stock of the production of various units including Bharat boxes, CADILA Pharmacy, United phosphorus Limited, Krishi Rasayan export private limited and Jindal Photo limited.
While inspecting the units of the centre, the Minister instructed concerned authorities who were also accompanied the Minister to ensure 90 per cent engagement of the locals in the industrial units established at various districts. He said that motive of the government for establishment of industrial units is to overcome the problem of unemployment.
Regarding establishment of pesticide units, the Minister said that in future no such units would be allow to establish, keeping in view the health hazards and damage of crops. He asked the concerned authorities to look into the matter regarding issuance of clearance certificate from Pollution Control Board for re-functioning of 4 pesticide units, out of 7 which were closed recently due to damage of crops of adjoining area.
The Minister said that for upliftment of rural areas industrial units are also being set up in various districts. He also convened a meeting of officers of Industries Department where he was informed that Industrial Growth Centre Samba has been spread over 6000 kanals of land. In phase-1 and II, 200 industrial units have been established, out of which 52 are fully functional and 148 are under implementation.
Responding the demands of deputations, Dr. Sharma said that for augmentation of water supply under UIDESSMT scheme Rs 18.89 crore project is being taken in hand very soon. He instructed for submitting project report for improvement and upgradation of old water supply schemes of the area.
Earlier, the Minister conducted a surprise visit of PHE Sub-division at Vijaypur and issued instructions for issuance of suspension of AEE, PHE, S. Surjeet Singh and JE Stores Mr. Padha. He also recommended suspension of Block Development Officer Vijaypur for unauthorized absence from duty.
Among others, the Minister was accompanied by MLA Mr. Yashpaul Kundal, Ex-MLA Mr. Prakash Sharma, Managing Directors SIDCO & SICOP, Executive Engineer, PHE Samba and officers of Industries and Pollution Control Board.
