CM faces severe criticism for declaring withdrawal of forces. | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, oct 25: The Chief Minister Omar Abdhullah has come to a severe criticism for declaring withdrawal of Armed Forces Special Powers Act(AFSPA) from some pockets of militancy infested J&K state in view of increasing terrorist strikes in the state. As per startling disclosures made by Army Commanders hundreds of militants are waiting across the border to sneak inside the state prior to onset of winter season, sources said. Sources said over half a dozen militants are active in Mendhar sector, out of them four are from across the border. They use the hilly trade of Poonch to travel to Kashmir and indulge In terrorist activities, he added. Sources said the chief Minister and coalition despite being aware of terrorist activities in the state is becoming insensitive to the issue and to cultivate his political constituency in valley, he has been able to convince the Union Home Ministry regarding withdrawal of AFSPA from the state. Sources said though there is a conflict of ideology within UPA government with Defence Minister A.K.Antony opposing the withdrawal of security forces from the state on the plea that situation is not conducive for the same, the contradictory statements by two union ministers on the issue has sent confusing signals, sources added. Sources said surfacing the names of dreaded terrorists from Kishtwar in Delhi blasts has also indicated that the youth in the state are under the total influence of Jehadi forces hell bent to create disturbances across the country. Under these circumstances and the recent infiltration bids across the border indicate that the situation is still alarming in the state so any step regarding withdrawal of forces will prove suicidal, sources added
