| DC Udhampur administers oath to President, Vice President Reasi MC | | | JAMMU JAN 4 District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Mr. O. P. Kalandria administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly elected President Mr. Yash Paul Verma and Vice President Mr. Suraj Parkash Sharma of the Municipal Committee, Reasi at a simple but impressive function held at Municipal Committee office premises Reasi today. The Minister for Rural Deveelopment and Panchayat Raj Mr. Jugal Kishore Sharma, Additional District Development Commissioner, Udhampur Mr. Khursheed Ahmad Bhat, Director, Local Bodies, Jammu Mr. Gulzar Ahmed Quarachi, President Municipal Council, Kathua Mr. Naresh Deputy Director Local Bodies, Tehsildar, Reasi Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi Mr. J. L. Sharma, Tehsildar R.C. Tripathy, councilors, prominent citizens bar members and prominent citizens were present on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister exhorted upon the newly elected president and vice president to work with more dedication and devotion for the development of Reasi town for the well being of the common people and asked the local people to fully cooperate with the councilors in due development of the town. He assured the people that the new District Development Commissioner would start functioning at Reasi from Ist of April and a comprehensive development project will be initiated to carry out the developmental activities in the newly created Reasi district. He asked the Director Local Bodies to start the tile work of Reasi bazaar soon. He said that presently 34 Municipal Committees are existing in the Jammu province and becomes the moral responsibility of every citizen to come forward and work untidily for the due development irrespective of caste, creed and colour. The District Development Commissioner, Udhampur, ADDC and Director, Local Bodies also spoke on the occasion and assured for due development of Reasi town. The President and Vice President Municipal of MC, Reasi also spoke on the occasion and demanded adequate funds from the administration for the development of Reasi town. They asked the local people to cooperate in this behalf so that development of the town may be carried out smoothly. |
