Accession day celebrated across State | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 27:People from all walks of life held 64th Accession day celebration today throughout the State. J&K National Panthers Party (JKNPP) organized Accession day celebration in Ladakh, Kashmir and Jammu. The major functions were held at Parade Ground, Jammu and Lal Chowk, Srinagar in spite of the ban orders imposed by the State government to unfurl tricolour flag in the Lal Chowk area. The Lal Chowk celebrations were held under the leadership of Syed Rafiq Shah, MLC, President, Young Panthers, Masood Andrabi, State Vice President, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Provincial President, Manjoor Naik, Provincial General Secretary, Mohammad Maqbool and Mehboob Illahi, State Secretaries and others. Accession Day was also celebrated in the Districts of Kupwara, Baramulla, Anantnag, Pulwama and Srinagar. In Jammu hundreds of people participated in the celebration where a Mushaira was also organized. Prominent Dogri poets who participated in the Mushaira included Dhyan Singh, Narsingh Dev Singh Jamwal, Mohan Singh, Surender Singh Manhas, Gyaneshwar Sharma, Romesh Rahi, Sushil Begana, HC Jalmeria and Ghulam Mohammad. Prof. Bhim Singh in his inaugural address on the occasion of the celebration in Samba and later in Jammu declared that J&K is and shall continue to be India as long as the universe survives. The Panthers Party Chief in his message to the enemies of the country and agents of foreign powers who intend to destabilize India said that people of J&K took wise decision in 1947 and the credit goes to Maharaja Hari Singh for acceding to the Union of India when Pakistan attacked us. He said the people of J&K are proud to be citizens of the country which is the largest democracy in the world where secularism rules the composite society. The others who addressed the celebration in Parade Ground Jammu included Harsh Dev Singh, Balwant Singh Mankotia, MLA, State President of JKNPP, HC Jalmeria, and Anita Thakur, General Secretaries Reports of Accession Day celebration was also reported from Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Doda, Ramban, Udhampur, Ramnagar, Billawar, Basohli, Kathua, Poonch, Rajouri, Samba and several other areas. District Kathua youth wing and district National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) celebrated the Accession day at Shaheed Bhagat Singh park, Kathua today. On the occasion, Rajinder Singh Manju (State Secy) said that the State of Jammu and Kashmir acceded to the Dominion of India when its ruler Maharaja Hari Singh signed an Instrument of Accession and the Governor General of India, Lord Mountbatten accepted the instrument. District Kishtwar unit of JKNPP also celebrated the 64th anniversary of Accession of Jammu and Kashmir with union of India at its party office in Kishtwar District. The function was presided over by senior party leader Anil Parihar which was attended by large number Party members as well as by the party workers. Duggar Vikas Manch today organised a function to celebrate the 64th Accession Day of J&K State with the Union of India at Mubarak Mandi Complex Jammu. On the occasion, National Flag was hoisted by the members of the forum to celebrate this day, the day J&K State became the part of the Union of India.
