| | |  Ballerz to face Red Demons in basketball final

JAMMU, Oct 27: Ballerz Club shall be playing against Red Demons in the final of senior men’s final of the ongoing Vinsanity Basketball Basketball Tournament, organised by Vinsanity Club at BSF Stadium, Paloura, here tomorrow.
Earlier, in the well contested semi-final, played this evening, Ballerz outplayed Denver Club 80-72. Despite first half lead of 16-12, Denver could not do well in rest of the three quarters of the 40-minute game. However, superb game played by Rajinder helped the side reduce the margin.
At the end of first half of the play, Denver were trailing by 16 points. Rajat was top scorer from winners Ballerz with 26 points. Rajinder played equally good game and added most of the 26 points in Denver’s total of 72.
In another semi-final of the day, Red Demons outplayed Blue Demons 64-42. Shubam was main contributor from winners with 20 points.
Meanwhile, in junior boys’ category, Sainik School XI shall lock horns against Hari Singh Warriors in the final tomorrow.
Earlier, in the semi-finals, Sainik School beat SRML Higher Secondary School by eight points while Hari Singh Warriors outplayed Army Public School Nagrota narrowly two points.
In all, 11 teams contested in junior group on knock-out basis while eight teams in senior group played on league basis up to semifinals.
The five-day long tournament shall conclude tomorrow with the holding of finals nad prize distribution function at the same venue.
The organizers of the tournament have been extended technical support by the J&K State Sports Council.
