Ministers will remain available in Kashmir during winter | | | Early times report Srinagar, Oct 29 : Jammu and Kashmir government has decided that ministers in the coalition cabinet will remain available to people in the Winter Secretariat on rotational basis from October 31.
This decision was taken as the Civil Secretariat, seat of the government, including the offices of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, his cabinet colleagues, top bureaucrats and heads of departments, were closed yesterday.
However, the offices which were functioning for six days in a week, will close today after the working hours.
The offices will reopen in summer capital, Jammu on November 10.
An official spokesman said here today that winter secretariat has been established in Civil Secretariat which shall start functioning from October 31, 2011 under the supervision of Additional Secretary to government.
Accordingly, the government has issued a circular whereunder ministers will attend the Winter Secretariat on rotational basis to hear public grievances.
He said people can register their grievances before the ministers in the winter secretariat.
Meanwhile, the government has approved enhancement of Temporary Move Allowance (TMA) from Rs 650 to Rs 1500 per month with effect from October 1, 2011 in favour of the move employees.
The government also sanctioned enhancement of Move TA from existing rate of Rs 6000 to Rs 10000 in favour of move employees with effect from October 2011.
Meanwhile, hundreds of truck have been pressed into service to transport all records of the move offices to Jammu.
To allow free movement of vehicles carrying darbar move officials, the authorities have decided to allow one-way traffic from Srinagar to Jammu today and tomorrow and November 5 and 6.
However, no vehicle will be allowed from Jammu to Srinagar on these dates.
Traffic police in its appeal to the general public has requested to adhere to the schedule.
