11 RR organize medical camp in Chas Chatroo. | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kishtwar Oct 29:- Rashtriya Rifles (11 RR) battalion located at Bhandarkot Kishtwar organized a medical camp for local people of village Chas in Chatroo Tehsil of Kishtwar district (J&K) under Operation Sadbhavana. Chas village is an extremely backward area, where the local populace depends on their livestock and agriculture. In absence of adequate medical facilities they are dependent on Tehsil Headquarters at Chatroo for medicare, that too lack proper medical setup and on popular demand from the locals, army organized this medical camp at said village. The camp was inaugurated by Officer Commanding of the company of Rashtriya Rifles in presence of army and civil officials as well as village elders and Sarpanch also remain present. Hundreds of people from nearby villages also attended the camp. The camp was a huge success as patients including male, female and children were treated at this camp. A Medical Officer of Rashtriya Rifles and a lady doctor rendered their free services during the subject camp and free medicines were also distributed among the patients who were medically examined during the camp. It was an additional effort by this battalion to substantiate the efforts of ‘Winning Hearts and Minds of People’. People from far-off places flocked to the medical camp along with their families. This camp was highly appreciated by the locals, which was evident from the overwhelming response and their requests to organize such camps on regular basis in future as well. “This affection and sense of belonging towards the locals was a true testimony of the positive effect, our Sadbhavana projects are having on the local populace” said Officer Commanding
