2 more arrested in Rajouri fake currency racket

EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu OCT 29: Police today claimed arrest of two more persons, including the king
pin in the smuggling of counterfeit notes in Rajouri district. Another
accused managed escape from the spot.
Official sources said that Mohammed Altaf and his accomplice Pawan
Kumar, a police man , were interrogated by the police during which
they disclosed the names of three more persons involved in`pumping
fake notes into the district’.

Based on the interrogation reports, sources said, two simultaneous
raids were conducted at the residences of the accused persons and both
of them were picked up from there.
They have been identified as Satish Kumar son of Krishan of Dangri and
Rohit son of Subash Chander of ward number 7 at Rajouri, while the
absconder was identified as Sahil son of Subash Chander.

The police claimed recovery of a printer, a scanner, a laptop, some
papers and some fake notes of 50 and 100 denominations.
Official sources said that the number on all the fake notes of Rs 500
was JKK534557, while on Rs 100 it was 5DD899437.

They said that the investigating agencies have given clean chit to the
Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) leader Kuldeep Raj Gupta saying that his
role did not figured in the smuggling of fake currency notes.

It may be said here that yesterday the special operation group of JK
Police had raided the residence of the BJP leader and recovered 40
counterfeit notes of Rs 500 and Rs 100 besides some half printed fake
notes from the belongings of his Personal Security Officer Neeter
Prakesh, who is evading his arrest since then.
Notably, police so far has arrested four persons in the fake currency
case including Mohammed Altaf son of Mohammed Shakur of Darhal, a
trainee of ENT School Rajouri, Pawan Kumar son of Kikri Ram of
Rajouri, Satish Kumar and Rohit, while two persons have been evading
their arrests namely Neeter Prakesh and Sahil.
Police have been conducting continuous raids at the hideouts of the
accused persons and investigation in the case is in progress.
