Panun alleges corruption mismanagement in newly-constructed first satellite Jagti Township | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu , Ovt 29:Panun Kashmir, an amalgam of Kashmir Pandit organisations, today alleged corruption and mismanagement in the newly-constructed first satellite Jagti Township constructed for the Kashmiri Pandit migrants. "Time to time complaints of corruption in the government's relief organisation and the mismanagement in the affairs of newly constructed camp were brought to the notice of the authorities concerned but no immediate step has been taken as yet," Panun Kashmir chairman Ajay Chrungoo told reporters at a press conference here this afternoon. He said the Panun brought these issues to the fore few months back with the hope that the state government would look into the matters but unfortunately nothing was done. "We wanted that the government ovecome the problems in the management of the camp affairs and also complete the unfinished construction work of the camp besides improving the quality of construction wherever required but after taking stock of the situation, we found that nothing substantial has been done," he added. "More leakages and seepages have taken place in the newly constructed quarters at Jagati. Poor state of sanitation continues and the facilities of schools and dispensary are showing no further improvement," the Panun leader rued. He added that the quarters lack basic facilities. Mr Chrungoo demanded a thorough probe into the allegations of corruption and bungling in the construction of two room tenements, immediate assurance from the state government that quality steel has been used in the construction work and there is no danger to the inmates because of poor quality of construction material. "Government should assure proper facilities to the migrants at Jagti township," he added
