| Sham inaugurates first NRHM Summelan in Kargil | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KARGIL, OCTOBER 29 - Minister for Health Sham Lal Sharma today inaugurated Trauma Center of District Hospital Kargil, ANMT School and 1-day NRHM Summelan in Kargil alongwith the Minister for CA&PD and Transport Qamar Ali Akhoon and CEC LAHDC Kargil Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan.
During the function, Mr Sham Lal Sharma said that the Government has sanctioned new 346 posts for Male Multipurpose workers for J&K in health sector, of which, 67 posts are for Kargil District. He directed the Council to engage eligible candidates for these posts within 15 days.
For development of infrastructure in health sector, the Minister said that an amount of Rs.1.75 crore will be spent in healthcare services under NRHM.
The Minister said that the doctors who are selected at any post under special category have to serve for seven years in that particular region and this particular 7 years service is mandatory for freshly appointed doctors.
The Minister authorized LAHDC Kargil to appoint specialists on contract basis under NRHM scheme with a remuneration of around forty thousand rupees per month.
Mr. Sham agreed that Kargil is topographically 4 times more diffcult than other snow bound areas so priority should be given in every field to the District.
He further said that Government is looking seriously for improving communication facilities including Air Service from Kargil, Zojjila Tunnel and poor service of BSNL.
On the occasion, Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon and Kargil Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan also spoke on the occasion.
