Kishtwar, Oct 29: In a significant development, Kishtwar police who played an important role in probe into September 7 Delhi High Court blast case on Thursday evening arrested a person suspected to be one of the conduits of terror strike which rocked the national capital. Police have managed to nab 26 years old Mushatq Ahmed son of Noor Mohammad Bakerwal resident of Assar Doda on the disclosure of the accused arrested by National Investigation Agency (NIA). According to the reports, after receiving an input from NIA, Kishtwar police constituted a team headed by Dy. SP headquarter Abrar Ahmed Chowdhary under the direct supervision of SP Kishtwar Bhim Sen Tutti and subsequently conducted the raid in Assar area of Doda District and arrested Mushtaq Ahmed on the charges of providing logistic support to the militants involved behind Delhi High Court blast. The reports pouring in from police sources said that Mushtaq Ahmed provided SIM cards to the Bangladeshi militants, who travelled to Kishtwar along with accused Dr. Wasim Akram Malik. The sources said that besides providing SIM cards to the militants, he (Mushtaq) also arranged food and shelter for the militants during their stay in Kishtwar.
The sources said that it was Mushtaq who arranged meeting of Dr. Wasim Akram and Bangladeshi militants with HM militants Amir Ali Kamal, Junaid Akram Malik, Shakir Hussain and others in higher reaches of Palmar area of Kishtwar District. The sources said that during stay of Bangladeshi militants in Palmar area, Mushtaq managed food and shelter for the militants. The sources said that Mushtaq not only provided food and shelter to the militants involved in Delhi blast, but also helped them as a guide since Mushtaq belongs to the Bakkerwal family (Nomadic family) who were familiar with local routes in most parts of the state.
The sources further said that it was Mushtaq who helped the militants in crossing the river Chenab around Chicha area of Nagsini Kishtwar and helped them to reach the Kishtwar city safely, where all these militants gave final touches to the Delhi High Court blast strategy before its execution. The sources said that arrest of Mushtaq Ahmed will provide a great help to the investigating agencies probing Delhi High Court blast. The sources said that police also scrutinize the call details of the mobile number used by the militants during their stay in Kishtwar. Kishtwar police is likely to shift the custody of Mushtaq Ahmed to NIA, who will later shift him to Delhi for further questioning.
Meanwhile, Kishtwar police along with army and other security agencies seal all the entry and exit points leading to Marwah and Dachhan area of Kishtwar District where the accused behind the Delhi High Court blast were believed to be hiding, probably, in upper reaches. The sources indicate that there is possibility that the trio Amir Ali Kamal, Junaid Akram Malik and Shakir Hussain Sheikh might have shifted their base to some safer place in Kashmir division. Inputs also suggested that after announcement of huge reward on them by the NIA and state police, these militants are trying to cross over on other side of the border to save themselves from the clutches of security forces.
