JK island of corruption, mis-governance: Gayoor | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Oct 30 A senior youth leader of Peoples Democratic Party Sunday alleged that the state had become an island of darkness, corruption, mis-governance, favoritism and nepotism in the National Conference led rule. “The National Conference led dispensation has totally failed on all fronts even in providing the basic amenities to the common people,” PDP Youth General Secretary Showkat Gayoor said in a statement. He said that NC led government was deliberately using force as a substitute to justice and instead of responding to the public needs and development. “This is an antithesis of our democratic system which National Conference has always sacrificed for power and caused irreparable damage to state and its institutions,” he alleged. Gayoor emphasizes on the role of youth to play in building the confidence and taking the mission of party leadership on gross root level. He lambasted the government of failing to address the grievances of masses and youth in particular. “Making hollow promises has become routine of this government and on ground nothing is delivered since decades being in power.” He said that the leadership of Mufti Mohammed Sayeed provided a new and much needed anchor to the political landscape of the state which had revived political and economic activity with an entirely new vision and constructive competition. Gayoor claimed that PDP was the only party which has pro-people agenda and have constructive development policy for youth and state as well.
