| LAST MINUTE PREPARATIONS STILL GOING ON FOR CRUCIAL BUDGET SESSION | | | Jammu, Jan 5 Several civil secretariat employees are busy fighting a race against time ahead of the start of the budget session starting January 8. Even though majority of state govt offices were closed on account of Gurupurab celebrations yet large number of civil secretariat employees and others attached with the budget session could not enjoy luxury of a third state govt holiday in one week.A snap survey conducted by a local news agency revealed that senior most officers of the rank of commissioner secretaries and Principal secretaries in various departments were present in their offices to give final touches to the pending work related to budget session. Starting with Financial Commissioner BB Vyas, senior bureaucrats in General Adminsitration department, Law, Tourism, health, Agriculture were present in their offices. Same is the case with the Assembly secretariat staff who is busy finalizing the last minute details related to smooth conduct of the business in both the houses.Official sources revealed that keeping in mind rush of questions and pending replies several department heads had asked their staff to remain present in the office to complete the work. Rough estimates suggest almost everyone attached with the Budget session were present in their offices.Large number of security staff was also present in the civil secretariat complex for the smooth conduct of the joint session of both the houses of the state legislature to be addressed by the Governor Lt-Gen Retd SK Sinha. |
