Army organizes medical camp | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Oct 30: A medical-cum-dental and veterinary camp was organized by Army on Saturday at Middle School Karalpura. According to a defence communiqué a team of doctors from civil administration and Army alongwith lady doctors attended to a large number of patients. “The aim of the camp was to extend medical services to the people and livestock of villages where adequate medical infrastructure is not available,” it said. “People from Karalpura, Niyari, Rashanpura, Ziarat, Melyal, Dardpura, Awatkul and adjoining areas turned up in large numbers for treatment at the medical camp,” the statement added. In order to inculcate good health and hygiene amongst local children and their mothers, a health and hygiene awareness program was also organised which included screening of a movie on health issues. “The response of local populace was overwhelming. In addition, in liaison with ITC Group of Hotels and Tele-performance BPO, local youth were interviewed for offering free of cost training and employment opportunities in the fields of Hotel Management and BPO industries,” the defence statement said.
