Teachers’ federation highlight demands | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 30:All Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh Teachers Federation (AJKLTF) today highlighted its long pending demands in a meeting which was held under the chairmanship of its President, Bhushan S Verma and Maheshwar Sharma, Convener of the Federation. The President of the Federation while raising the demands said that the teacher fraternity is facing lot of hardships due to neglect of their interests by the present establishment. He warned that if the government does not heed to their just demands the teaching fraternity will be left with no other option but to resort to an agitational path. The demands included grant of permission for higher studies and GP fund, teachers of District Jammu retained at Samba be brought back, initial higher start to be given to the qualified teachers, adherence to proper transfer norms, salary and the grants be released on the last day of each month, earned leave norms should be at par with other state employees and dislocation allowances be given to the teachers serving in the rural and far-flung regions of the state. It was also resolved in the meeting that Director and respective CEOs should treat the teaching fraternity sympathetically and a draconian approach in dealing the cases should be shunned. Vice President, Reasi, Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Ashok Dubey, Amreek Singh, Bansi Lal, Shashi Pal, Ravinder Verma, Prem Singh, Mohan Singh, Kewal Krishan, Pardeep Kumar (Provincial President), Rakesh Kumar and Abdul Qayum Malik were also present in the meeting.
