Jammu, Oct 30: Sahil Sharma of Jammu bagged gold in below 50 kg weight category in the Divisional Level Inter-District Judo Championship, organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu, here today. Ranjeet Singh of Reasi clinched silver while Vishal of Kathua got bronze medal in this category.
In below 55 kg, Abhishek Chaudhary of Jammu, Angrez Singh of Reasi and Muzafar Ali of Kathua clinched gold, silver and bronze respectively, while in 55 kg category, Sanjeet Singh of Kathua, Rishu Verma of Jamu and Shamsher Singh of Reasi bagged first, second and third place and in below 60 kg, Mohd Saleem of Reasi and Deeraj of Kathua got gold and silver respectively.
In under-19 years girls, Shivani, Pritika, Neetu Rani, Payal Gupta, Hargeet Kour and Supriya Pandita bagged gold medals in 44, 48, 52, 56, 60 and 61 kg open categories respectively.
While in under-17 years girls, Arohi Khajuria, Mavish, Ishma, Yashka Jamwal, Sanjana Manhas, Mehak and Aakriti Sharma won gold medals in 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56 and 61 open categories respectively.
The matches were officiated by Virender Sharma, Atul Pangotra and Pankaj Sapolia.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu Mohd Ayaz Khan was the chief guest on the valedictory function, who distributed prizes among the winners ON THE occasion.
