| 4 narco-smugglers denied bail | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 30: In two different cases, four narco-smugglers were today denied bail
by the court of special judge, Ramban.
Batote police had recovered eight kilograms of charas from Ghulam Mohammad Bhat
of Baramulla and Feroz Ansari of Shuklaji Street, Kamaldipura, Mumbai, on April 23,
2009, when the vehicle, they were traveling in, was subjected to routine checking at
Batote.
In another case, Ramban police had recovered 3.4 kg charas from police cop Vikar
Ahmed and dry fruit merchant Showkat Ahmed, both residents of Anantnag, on April
24, 2010.
Special judge M A Choudhary observed that commercial quantity of tetra hydro
cannabinol (THC), a psychotropic substance, had been recovered in both the cases
and rejected the bail applications moved by all the four accused.
