NSF calls for Crime Branch probe in B.Ed bungling | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 30: National Secular Forum held protest demonstration against University authorities as hundreds of students have tampered with their admit cards to seek admissions. Addressing a press media, NSF president Vikas Sharma has asked the Jammu University (JU) authorities to conduct fully fledged probe in the bungling in the B.Ed fraud committed by the private colleges during the academic session 2010-11 examination held recently. Vikas Sharma also said "Hundreds of cases of fraud were detected in the recently concluded BEd annual examination. Hundreds of students tampered with their admit cards. The admission was taken by some other students while those who appeared in the examination were different than those." Besides, the registration return record was changed at the last instance with the involvement of University officers and other employees. NSF wants to know as to how and why the BEd colleges managed to change RR record, and who were the people involved from the JU side. "The involvement and college managements and University employees have surfaced in this whole episode. The agent system is ruling the roost while the University higher ups are watching it helplessly," he added. Sharma demanded from the University authority to order Crime Branch probe in this whole fraud. The BEd colleges have dented the image of Jammu University by indulging in cheap practices for the sake of earning money. It's a big fraud. University must stop the result of this entire examination and order complete probe to unearth the nexus of education mafias and University officials. Sharma asked the four member high level inquiry committee headed by Chief Secretary to take the notice of this fraud and also take this incident into their ambit of probe. The role of College Development Council must be thoroughly probed. Sharma warned that if no action is taken by the University against the BEd malpractices, the NSF activist will launch agitation in a big way. Among those who were present in the press conference included Surjit Choudhary, Sukdev Singh, Ravi Choudhary, Pawan Singh Ankit Raina, Layaqat AliKhan, Simran Singh, Hardeep Singh, Charnjeet Singh, Pardeep Singh, Abhimanyu Gupta and others.
