Employment policy offering ‘consolidated honorarium’ ridiculed | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Oct 30:The bad days yet has not ended for the ruling regime be it the announcement of the repealing of Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in phased manner to gain sympathy in valley or the Fixed salary Policy to win support of unemployed youth across the state as youths ridiculed the new policy terming it offering nothing concrete to unemployed youth. Suresh Ajay Magotra President Jammu University Research Scholar Forum (JURSF) Jeet Singh Vice President, Imtaiz lone Secretary and Nasir Bilal Joint Secretary respectively in press conference today criticized the employment policy of the state government for its new Fixed Salary Policy for Non Gazaetted ranks in government departments. “All unemployed youth of the state are shocked after state govt’s gift to the youth and students on Dewali and Eid, by issuing new order of ‘Fixed Salary Mode of Recruitment in Non-Gazetted Categories from November 1, 2011 onwards in which they have to work on 50 % salary for five years, they said. Questioning the credibility of the new policy, the JURSF leaders said, “We ask, as to what is the logic behind such an irresponsible move when a MLA is drawing more than 85 thousand rupees per month without any good qualification in its sharp contrast the graduates, post-graduates and even the Ph.D degree holders who fail to get Gazetted rank will have to work on petty monthly honorarium courtesy the so called literate political leaders who claim to be crusader of the human rights and working to eradicate social menaces even poverty and unemployment. They however apprehended that working on pea nuts i.e. to work on Rs 4000 per month on contractual basis will lead to more corrupt society. They lamented that NC led govt had already banned govt. jobs for 10 years some years back and now along with Congress at state and Centre, the state govt is spoiling the future of educated youth of the state. Warning the centre ands state government as well the JURSF leaders underlined, such initiatives will not be tolerated at any cost if not revoked timely the state of Jammu and Kashmir will give rise to the situation like that of Egypt and Libya. “Youth of the state will no more tolerate this attitude of the corrupt state govt, they added. They also informed that organization will be organizing a one day seminar of youth of the state in the month of November to chalk out the line of action on this issue and for many more issues like this which are affecting and spoiling the present and future of youth of the whole state. Worth to mention that ruling regime already had faced ire of the students and educated unemployed on the announcement of much hyped Sher-e-Kashmir Employment Policy earlier. Former chief minister and Patron PDP Mufti Mohd Sayeed in a day-long convention of the PDP youth wing in valley on August 18 this year, regretted that instead of formulating a comprehensive youth policy, the present dispensation was brazenly trying to befool the younger generation by making false promises with them. He especially mentioned of the Sher-e-Kashmir Employment and Welfare Policy for Youth announced by the state government two years back. “Where is that policy which was announced with much fanfare?”, he asked, adding “the policy announced by the government was merely an eyewash and cruel joke with the unemployed youth of the state”.
