Red Cross Mela concludes with Bhajan Sandhya

JAMMU, Oct 30: The two-day long Red Cross Mela concluded here today at Kala Kendra with Bhajan Sandhya programme.
MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria was the chief Guest and the function was presided over by Shiv Kumar Raina besides Munish Jain, CEO of Saraswati Plastotech India Private Ltd. Bari Brahmana, Jammu was the Guest of Honour on the occasion.
The Honorary Secretary, Regional Red Cross Society, Anil K. Padha received the guests and presented the bouquets while Ashish Singh of District Red Cross Kathua presented Lapel pins of Red Cross to the Chief Guest.
The artists of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages presented the Bhajan Sandhya which was attended by prominent citizens including Anil Suri, OP Sharma, Seema Shekhar Khajuria, Reva Gupta, Administrator Associated Hospital and Savita Bakshi, Addl Secretary, Cultural Academy.
The artists who performed Bhajan Sadhya included Nidhi Kehla, Supriya, TR Tagotra, Bishan Dass and Marina Jamwal.
The chief guest Khajuria appreciated the efforts put in by secretary in reviving the Red Cross activities and congratulated the volunteers on the occasion.
He also announced a grant of Rs 2.5 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for Regional Red Cross Society on the request of Anil K. Padha for creating Red Cross Library and First Aid training centre at Red Cross Bhawan, Kachi Chawni, Jammu.
Earlier, an inter School Dance competition was held in which Syed Asgar Ali, MLC was the Chief Guest and function was presided over by Gulzar Ahmed Qureshi, Director School Education, Jammu.
The 1st Prize was bagged by Heritage Public School followed by KV Sunjwan as 2nd and Carmel Covent School Kunjwani as 3rd whereas two consolation prizes were given to New Era Hr. Sec. School and Lawrence Public School.
Prominent among those who attended the function Wg Cdr. M.M. Joshi (Retd.), Prabha Jain, Sureshta Khajuria, Kanchan Sharma and RC Khajuria.
