Taj promoting NC at Congress cost: Parray | 'Soz stand over AFSPA supported by entire party' | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 30: State Congress which already stands split in two factions today presented itself as a divided house on AFSPA issue when a senior leader from Kashmir accused cabinet minister Taj Mohi-u-Din of promoting the interests of National Conference at the cost of Congress party which he represents in the government. Mohammad Muzaffar Parray made this grave accusation while reacting to Taj statement contradicting the stand of PCC Chief Prof Saif-u-Din Soz on the AFSPA controversy. "Taj Mohiuddin should know that he is seen in the public as a person who promotes National Conference at the cost of Congress party. ………He is also seen as a person who enjoys the public perception of being more loyal than the king, rather impetuously…….. It is for him to decide whether he would be morally right to continue in the Congress," Parray who is spokesperson of the party said in a statement today. Lambasting the Minister Parray went a step further and demanded ouster of Taj from the cabinet. "We want high command should take serious note of it…..we demand Taj Mohiuddin should be called back from the cabinet as he is harming the party interests," the statement added. Taj's observations on contradicting PCC chief have at a time when the entire Congress unit, including those from the other group cosnidered to be loyalists of Ghulam Nabi Azad have expressed full support to the stand he exhibited two days back while taking on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for not having consulted the Coordination Committee and his cabinet colleagues before making announcement about AFSPA revocation. Soz was also supported by the Delhi on what he contended the need for evolving consesnus and seeking opinion and viewpoint of the all the stakeholders before taking a final decision on the matter. "It is unfortunate that Mr. Mohi-ud-Din Minister of Irrigation and PHE contradicted the President J&K PCC Prof. Saifuddin Soz on the question of AFSPA. Prof Soz is clear on this question and he enjoys support of the entire party in the J&K State ," the statement issued by spokesperson of PCC ,Muzaffar Parray, added. Reacting to Parray's allegations Taj while speaking to a news agency said that if some people in the party want to prove there are differences he cannot do anything. "Chief Minister talked to me over the revocation of AFSPA before making the statement. As a cabinet college he talked to me and I gave my opinion as a minister. I didn't represent Congress that time," he said. "As Chief Minister Omar Abdullah can discuss any issue with any senior minister before taking it in the cabinet," he added. |
