| Gujar basti demands adequate supply of water | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua, Oct 31: The Gujjar Basti of village Chack Luxman of Kathua has been suffering from the acute shortage of neat and clean drinking water for the last more than six years. In order to solve this grave problem a deputation met with XEN PHE Kathua under the leadership of district president Robin Sharma of Sarv Dharam Seva Samiti.
On the occasion Sharma told the XEN PHE that these people are belonging to poor and down trodden section the society they have no personnel source to manage the facility of water their own while these people have small farming and milking profession large numbers of buffaloes, cows so these people require abundant quantity of water for their survival but unfortunately in their locality no PHE water pipes have been installed till date and are suffering due to the lack of water.
He said that for the time being the PHE department had been sent the water tank to meet their problem but this tank now has also been stopped to provide the water by saying that due the lack of revenue to accommodate this village.
In response the XEN PHE paid serious attention towards the problems of deputation and assured to solve their long pending problem by taking this issue into district plan.
