| Belicharana IED Case | | HC stays execution of arrest warrants | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Oct 31: High Court today stayed the execution of arrest warrants against Sepoy Bishan Lal of Army in the infamous Belicharana IED case.
In a criminal revision petition filed by Commanding Officer Infantry Battalion against the order issued by City Judge Jammu whereby the said Court had issued warrants against Sepoy Bishan Lal, Justice JP Singh after hearing Adv R.Koul for the Army, Deputy Advocate General B.RChandan for the state issued notice and called the record and ordered that case list for hearing two weeks.
Justice JP Singh also stayed the operation of order issued by City Judge Jammu on October 20, 2011 in so far as directs execution of its warrants (through DIG) to secure the custody of Sepoy shall remain stayed. According to the case on September 23, 2011; Satwari police station recovered an IED at Satwari-Belicharana Road. After enquiry, police came to know that act had been committed by Army personal namely Bishan Lal alias Bobby son of Girdhari Lal and obtained arrest warrant of the alleged accused.
