50 % salary rule will alienate youth: Dr Singh | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Oct 31:“It is a strange irony that the National Conference led government which began its term three years ago with the promise to provide stipend to unemployed youth has ended up further alienating the youth by denying even the basic salary to the educated youth whom it employees under the “Fixed salary mode” of new recruitment rules.” This was stated here today by BJP J&K Chief Spokesperson and National Executive Member Dr Jitendra Singh while lashing out at the new recruitment rules announced by the government according to which a fresh recruit would get only 50 percent of basic pay for first two years and 75 percent for next three years without any allowances. Dr Jitendra Singh said that a government which talks of rehabilitating and giving jobs to surrendered militants and ex-militants returning from PoK has no moral authority to play such a cruel joke on the educated unemployed youth who come forward to serve the government with unblemished credentials. Such thoughtless recruitment policy will send out a dangerous signal that there is a premium on militancy and that those who indulge in anti-national activism are likely to get a priority in jobs, he warned and said it is criminal injustice to hand over a meagre salary of Rs 2800 to a newly recruited employee who is officially in the grade of Rs 5200- Rs 20,200. Dr Singh said that if the NC lead coalition government wants to cut down on state budget, it should start by first cutting down the salaries and allowances drawn by the Chief Minister and the ministers which the present government has massively hiked twice in just about three years. BJP leader also held the Congress led UPA government at the Centre responsible for such foolhardy decisions by the NC led coalition in the State.
