| SVO produces challan against Ex- Engineer | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 01: According to the State Vigilance Organization, J&K Srinagar, challan was produced today against Mohammad Afzal Shah S/o Haji Abdul Majid Shah, R/o Tral Naibasti presently Gulshan Nagar Nowgam, Srinagar, then Executive Engineer Project Construction Circle-I, Srinagar in the court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption in case FIR NO: 16/2010 u/s 5 (1) (e) r/w 5 (2) P.C. ActSvt.2006 P/S VOK.
The case was registered on the outcome of a secret enquiry conducted into the allegation of possession of huge assets both movable and immovable in the shape of residential houses at Tral and Nowgam, Srinagar, bank deposits, bank shares, golden jewellery, LIC policies etc. by the accused which were disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The investigation conducted into the case establishes the possession of assets(both movable and immovable) by the accused Executive Engineer Mohammad Afzal Shah disproportionate to his known sources of income to the tune of Rs.59,63,172.40. The investigation of the case was concluded as proved against the accused /s 5 (1) (e) r/w 5 (2) P.C. Act Svt. 2006 and accordingly after obtaining of sanction from the competent authority for prosecution of the accused, the challan/charge sheet was presented before the court for judicial determination.
