| Inter College Northern Zone Declamation contest held | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 1:The preliminary Round of 2nd Annual Inter College Northern Zone Declamation Contest for Silver Rolling Trophy, organized by Department of Higher Education (J&K Government) was held at Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The programme commenced with recital of Vandana and Lighting of the lamp followed by the welcome address by Principal of the College, Prof. Nalini Kohli in which she warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, Guest of Honour, Sanjeev Verma, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu and Special Guest, Dr. Sham Lal Gupta, Former Director Colleges.
In her address she highlighted that the main aim of this contest was to select a team of six students from various colleges of Jammu and six students from Colleges of Srinagar. Among the Jury members were Prof Chanchal Dogra, Prof M A Wani, Dimple Anil Azad and Pardeep Dutta encouraged the students and impressed upon the need to create the knowledge and expressed sense of gratitude to His Excellency the Governor, NN Vohra for instituting this occasion.
The Chief Guest, Prof. Varun Sahni also shared his pearls of wisdom by speaking on the occasion. He appreciated by saying that the topics are very well relevant in the present scenario. Jury members also shared their views on the occasion.
