3 state climbers leave for National Sport Climbing C’ship | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 1:Three promising climbers of Mountaineering Association of J&K namely Princy Chowdhary, Ashish Kapoor and Bindia Sharma left today for Delhi to participate in the 17th National Sport Climbing Championship being conducted by Indian Mountaineering Foundation, New Delhi from November 2 to 6. These climbers are part of a 30 member North Zone Sport Climbing team for the National Championship. It is pertinent to mention here that Princy had won 3 medals including 2 silver and a bronze in the Girls category, while Ashish Kapoor had clinched a bronze medal in the sub junior boys category of the 17th North Zone Sport Climbing Championship held at Jamia Millia Islamia University recently. Bindia was, however, selected in the Zonal team on the basis of securing 4th place in the sub junior girls’ category. Narinder Singh, a Veteran Climber, is accompanying the team as Manager Cum Coach. Earlier, the climbers along with the Secretary, Mountaineering Association of J & K, Ram Khajuria called on the Secretary, J & K State Sports Council Kiran Wattal, who wished the team all success.
