Cleanliness drive at old age home | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kathua Nov 1: The cadets of Govt.ITI Kathua and HSS, Boys Kathua visited the old age home today and started cleanliness drive. All the drive took place under the supervision of NCC officer NC Jamwal and NCC officer Ravinder Kumar. ANO NC Jamwal said on the occasion that this programme was organized on the direction of Lt. CoL. J.A. Mir, Commanding Officer 1J&K ARMD SQN, NCC, Jammu. He said that NCC undertakes social programmes in the month of Nov. every year because NCC Act was passed in this month 1948 and thereby NCC came into existence. In the month of Nov. number of social activities is organized by NCC throughout India in order to inculcate the social responsibilities among the cadets. On the occasion, NCC Officer Ravinder Kumar asserted that NCC is the biggest Youth Organization of the country and this army of the youth is always ready to serve the nation. He added that the aim of bringing the cadets here was not only to clean the home but also to make them aware about the problems being faced by the old age people in society and provide them the opportunity to understand the management of old age home, so that in future they may help the management of the old age home on their own. The cadets distributed fruits among the old people in the old age home. The principal of Govt. Hr. Sec School (Boys) Kathua and superintendent, ITI, Kathua were also present on the occasion. |
