| Agriculture awareness camp at Salamabad, Uri | | | January 06
As a part of special programme in quake affected areas, a daylong awareness camp was organized by Agriculture department at Salambad, Uri today. Joint Director, Agriculture (Extension) presided while experts and officers besides a sizeable number of farmers attended the camp.
On the occasion, it was stated that during current Rabi season, 1400 kannals of land have been brought under Pea cultivation in Uri block. For this purpose, seeds and fertilizers were provided to the farmers by the department free of cost.
The experts emphasized the need for making use of bio-fertilizers instead of conventional fertilizers which they said would improve the quality and quantity of crop production. They also stressed for double cropping to enrich the fertility of soil. |
