JAMMU, Nov 1: After eminent Supreme Court lawyer and social activist Prashant Bhushan, the National Conference General Secretary Sheikh Mustafa Kamaal's is likely to face the wrath of Bhagat Singh Kranti Sena (BSKS), for his utterances against army.
The BSKS has announced a cash reward of Rs 21,000 for anybody, who slaps the NC leader. The Sena is reportedly angry for Kamaal's anti army tirade launched recently under which the latter accused some elements in forces who were against revocation of AFSPA were responsible for engineering the grenade attacks in Kashmir last week.
Mustafa Kamaal, the younger brother of Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah and uncle of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah with his statement not only created a political storm but also fetched widespread condemnation for himself and his party.
The statement also put his sibling (Dr Farooq) and nephew (Omar) in an embarrassing position as NC is a part of United Progressive Alliance (UPA) in the centre.
The day Kamaal uttered anti-army remarks, it was generally perceived that it has political ramification could also lead to his own humiliation in the event if somebody able to slap him in full public glare.
According to reports, the BSKS president Tejinder Singh Bagga has declared that anybody who slaps Mustafa Kamaal would get Rs 21,000 in cash as reward from Sena.
The Sena has strongly objected and condemned the statement of Kamaal for his anti-army remarks.
BSKS is the same organisation which hogged the limelight after its activists thrashed Prashant Bhushan on October 12 in his office chambers at New Delhi.
Bhushan was attacked for advocating right of plebiscite for Kashmir people.
It is worthwhile to mention here that Mustafa Kamaal had accused the army of orchestrating the twin grenade attacks that occurred in Srinagar on October 25. The motive, he said was to make the government rethink its decision to partially remove the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA).
