BJP decries new recruitment policy
Jan Chetna Yatra commences from Hiranagar
11/2/2011 9:26:04 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 2:Among the four scheduled “Jan Chetna Yatras” organised by BJP, one from Hiranagar commenced today under the leadership of BJP State President Shamsher Singh Manhas, who reached the Smadhi Sthal of 1953-Praja Parishad martyrs alongwith his team members.
He paid the tributes and later addressed a public rally before taking out the yatra.
Highlighting the issues of Jan Jagran Yatra, Shamsher Singh Manhas referred to the latest announcement of Omar-led government about fixed salary mode recruitment policy beginning November 1 whereby new non-Gazetted employees will get meagre salary of just Rs 2500-3000 per month and said that this amount is even less than what a labourer earns in month. This is for the first time that such a policy has been declared which will put the newly recruited state employees on the verge of starvation.
He said the Chief Minister has enough money to hike the salaries of his ministers and himself and to fly the state aircraft without any urgency.
Shamsher Singh Manhas, while asking for an impartial CBI inquiry into the mysterious death of Haji Yousuf Shah, accused the Chief Minister of making anti-national and provoking statements on the issue of Afzal Guru and Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA).
He reminded the gathering that Omar Abdullah is known for his anti-national stand even in the past and during 2008 land row agitation, same Omar Abdullah had said on the floor of Parliament—“Ek Inch Zameen Nahin Denge”. Though being CM and under oath of constitution, Omar Abdullah has no hesitation in challenging the accession of the state and therefore he is a security risk for the state as well as the nation. The BJP, therefore, reiterates its demand that he should immediately quit the post of Chief Minsiter.
National Executive Member & State Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the beginning of Jan Jagran Yatra from Hiranagar has a symbolic importance because this is the land of martyrs of 1953-Praja Parishad agitation and we should take pledge to fight against injustice and complete the unfinished task of these martyrs.
Lal Kishen Advani’s yatra is focusing on cash for vote, this Jan Jagran Yatra starting from Hiranagar will offer an opportunity to make the people aware of cash for MLC scam which resulted in the mysterious death of NC activists Yousuf Shah, he added.
