New recruitment policy a cruel joke with youth: Chaman | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 2:Terming the new recruitment policy of the State Government as a cruel joke with the lakhs of unemployed educated youth as also the student community, the former Union Minister Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has asked the Government to immediately have a second thought before it is too late. Responding to the number of groups of the unemployed youth and students, Prof Gupta observed that the State was never having any effective policy to tackle the problem of unemployment. They have been rather fiddling with modes of employment and the existence of Article 370 granting separate status to this State, has been a major cause for ever growing unemployment. Because of their separatists outlook, the industrial growth have been very much hampered, he added and pointed out that in the situation the only major source of employment in the State was the Govt. jobs but now finding in a ticklish situation because of growing unemployment, these ruling leaders are beating about the bushes as they had made lofty promises to provide jobs to the unemployed youths. Their new stance about recruitment, he observed is nothing but to actually close the doors of new recruitment. This is bound to recoil on the Government itself as this coalition had raised high hopes amongst the youth. Now they are trying to wriggle out from their own cobwebs. He further said that this new approach of the Government is ill conceived and bound to generate more heat than solution. This would add to the discontentment even amongst the thousands of daily wagers and others who are aspiring for regularization of their long pending demands. Prof Gupta said though the unemployment problem is in the rest of country too but in Jammu and Kashmir it is acute because of the separatist outlook in which the investors find it hard to establish their industrial units. Unless there is free flow of the Indian Constitution, such like problems would continue to add the sad situation which needed change in the outlook and putting brakes to the prevailing corrupt system.
