| CRPF cop shoots self dead at rly station | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Nov 02: A CRPF cop allegedly shot himself dead under mysterious
circumstances with his service rifle at railway station here this morning.
Police sources said a CRPF vehicle, carrying mail from CRPF Group Centre at Bantalab,
arrived at the railway station here at about 11.30 am. Cop Rakesh Kumar Sharma
(27), son of Babu Ram Sharma, was travelling in it as a guard.
While other CRPF cops, who too had come in the vehicle, delivered mail at the railway
station, Rakesh went to the toilet and allegedly shot himself dead with his service rifle,
the sources added.
He hailed from Tarore in Vijaypur, Samba. After the matter came to their notice,
railway police rushed to the spot and evacuated Rakesh's body to the hospital
mortuary where post-mortem was conducted on it.
It was later handed over to family for last rites. Though police had registered a case in
this connection, the cause behind the provocation was yet to be ascertained.
