| J&K wins 4 medals in Sambo nationals | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 2: In their maiden participation in the 2nd Senior National Sambo Championship, Jammu and Kashmir team returned with four bronze medals won in different weight groups. The championship held at Devi Lal Stadium, Gurgawon in Haryana.
Since the game is similar to that of Judo, the senior players of the game represented the state and brought laurels.
In the ten-member team, women returned with two bronze medals. While Neetu Rani won third place in 52 kg, Sonam Kumari bagged bronze in 62 kg category. Similarly, in men’s section, Umar Jahan and Gansham Sawhney clinched bronze medals in 68 kg and 82 kg weight groups respectively.
The state team was coached by Rohit Sadhotra. Meanwhile, general secretary of the Association, R S Jamwal complimented the winners for bringing laurels to the state.
