Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 3: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has condemned lathicharge on protesting college students by police and said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah want to silence brave Dogras.
In a handout issued here today, BJP National Executive Member and MLA Jammu East Ashok Khajuria said that brutal lathicharge on college students who are protesting against new recruitment policy recently announced by state government has once again exposed anti-youth mindset of National Conference led government. He added that Minister of state for Home owes an explanation to Jammuites.
To apprise people about this new anti-youth recruitment policy, BJP leader Ashok Khajuria, addressed series of public meetings. He also informed the commoners about the “Jan Jagran Yatra” at places namely Purmandal, Khara Madana, Sarore, Vijaypur, Karalian, Sarva, Ghoe, Swankha Morh, Jakh, Tarore and Bari-Brahmna. He went on to state that no action against Chief Minister Omar Abdullah after the mysterious death of NC activist Haji Yousuf Shah encouraged him to use police the way he wants as he cannot face opposition of any of his decisions.
He said that the chief minister should explain as to why the police acted in such manner which resulted into injuries to a number of students while they were agitating peacefully for a genuine cause. State Vice President Chander Prakash Ganga while addressing these meetings said that the Jammu and Kashmir is the only state in India which witnesses new developments every now and then which cannot be termed as good for the state as well as the nation.
BJP State General Secretary Sat Sharma (C.A), while criticising the attitude of the Congress ministers hailing from Jammu, said that the people of Jammu had displayed their faith in the Congress candidates and returned them to the state assembly with the hopes that they would raise voice of Jammu in a more effective manner but it is really unfortunate that these representatives after getting the ministerial berths in the NC-Congress coalition have forgotten all the promises.
Meetings were also addressed by Bansi Lal Bharti, Keshav Dutt Sharma, Kashmir Singh, Gulshan Mahajan, Shashi Pal Vaid, Omkar Padha, Jagbir Singh Chiku, Kaka Pradhan, Som Dutt Verma, Avtar Singh, Amar Singh, Pitambar Nath, Master Madan, Tilak Verma, Tilak Gupta, Subhash Bhagat, Sanjay Padha and Bhram Dutt.
