| Govt committed to develop all rural areas: Aijaz | | | Jammu, Jan 6
Minister of State for Agriculture, Forest, Higher and Technical Education Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Khan visited Arnas, Udhampur and took stock of various development works under execution in the area.
Addressing a series of public meetings during the tour the Minister said that the present government is committed to develop all areas especially those, which have not yet seen the fruits of development.
Referring to the electrification of left out hilly areas, the Minister said that under Rajiv Gandhi Vidhut Karan Yojna all villages would be electrified by 2007. He said since the installation of Coalition Government as many as 120 new schools were opened and upgraded in Gool-Arnas.
The Minister said that road communication would be extended to all the villages very soon and potable drinking water provided to improve standard of life.
He said 44 new sewing machines would be distributed among widows of the area shortly to help them earn their dignified livelihood. Mr. Aijaz appealed people to cooperate with the government in the drive launched to eradicate corruption from the society and expose all unscrupulous elements. |
