DYSS sponsored U-14 soccer team enters QF | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 3: The under-14 state boys’ team, presently taking part in the 57th National School Games in football at Goa, today reached the quarterfinals stages. Taking part in the competition under the banner of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), J&K boys defeated Chandigarh and Gujarat in the group matches to qualify for the knock-out stages. “After beating Chandigarh by a solitary goal scored by Vivasanan Sawhney, J&K outplayed Gujarat 2-0 to confirm their berth in the quarterfinals,” Deputy Director DYSS, Ashok Kumar said. Nasir scored the first goal in the 14th minute while Tasudaq further improved the lead netting the ball in the 40th minute against Gujarat. “Now, in the quarterfinals, to be played tomorrow, J&K shall take on Maharashtra. The boys are upbeat to make it to the semifinals stages,” informed Ashok.
