PG Arts to take on GDC Kathua in hockey title-clash | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 3: The Post Graduate (PG) Departments of Arts shall face Government Degree College (GDC) Kathua in the final to retain the men’s inter-college hockey title on the campus here tomorrow. In the semi-finals, played today, PG Arts trounced equally good GDC Poonch 6-5 in tie breaker. Earlier, in the given time, the match ended in a 2-2 draw. Digvijay Singh (8th) and Amit Sharma (35th) scored for PG while Amandeep Sudan (28th and 47th) fought lone battle to equalize the score from Poonch. Later, in the tie-breaker, Ranveet Singh, Harvinder Singh, Sarabjeet Singh and Amandeep Singh were successful in their attempts on the goal post while Rakesh missed from PG Arts. On the other hand, Navjot Singh and Amit Singh and Balvinder Singh successfully converted their hits into goal while Amandeep Singh and Rajesh Sharma missed the target. In the first semi-final, GDC Kathua defeated Trikuta Degree College 5-2. Vivek Sharma (20th and 45th), Joginder Singh (36th), Sumit Kumar Khajuria (47th) and Navdeep Singh (58th) were scorers from winners Kathua. From Trikuta Degree College, Gurjeet Singh (29th) and Parvinder Singh (41st) reduced the margin. The final is scheduled to be played between GDC Kathua and PG Arts tomorrow at 11 am on the campus.
