NSF demands removal of Pathania, says corrupt would ruin CU | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 3: National Secular Forum (NSF) has sought removal of officer on Special Duty (OSD) in Central University (CU) Jammu Dr. P.S.Pathania, citing allegations of corruption and nepotism against him. Volunteers of NSF staged protest against continuation of Pathania in CU Jammu. They said that despite allegations against Pathania, Vice-Chancellor of central university has not moved an inch. NSF president Vikas Sharma while adressi8ng a press conference here today said, "There are many cases of corruption pending against Dr Pathania in University of Jammu. He committed several frauds in JU by misusing his official positions. Now, the cases are being probed by high level enquiry committee headed by Chief Secretary Madhav Lal." Sharma added that OSD to Vice Chancellor CUJ, P.S.Pathania, who is incompetent as well as corrupt, has started misusing his present position. NSF president Vikas Sharma said, "Spic Macay event was held five years ago. Dr Pathania was Dean Student Welfare at that time. He had drawn a sum of Rs 20 lakhs as advance on account of the event. He couldn't adjust the said amount. Later, when Dr. J.S.Tara became Dean Student Welfare, he fraudulently adjusted Rs 14 lakhs." He added that fake bills were produced and it has been said that cash payment was made to the participants which is contrary to the rules of the payment. "We fail to understand silence of the organizations who claim to be fighting for local person as first Vice-Chancellor of CU. Jammu had got this prestigious institution after long struggle and no corrupt official should be allowed to ruin this institution," he said. He further said that Pathania had been involved in decision making process and there is every possibility that he may resort to corrupt practices. "We appeal the President of India, who is visiting chancellor of Central University, to remove Pathania from his post till corruption charges are pending against him," NSF leader said.
