Rajouri people seek probe into backdoor appointments in BGBSU | | | Early Times Report RAJOURI, Nov 3: Politicians and social workers alongwith several student leaders of district Rajouri have sought thorough probe into the alleged backdoor appointments in Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) between year 2005 to 2009. These social workers have in a written communique, a copy of which is with Early Times, urged state government to probe into alleged large scale backdoor appointments in the university. They have said that most of these candidates were appointed under the fourth class category and assigned different jobs. The communique alleges that these appointments were reportedly made on the request of some officials of university. It asserts that the said officials had collected huge amount from the candidates as bribe and were apprehensive that they might be thrown out of the University. However, nothing such happened as the university regularized all of them, says the communique bearing names of Zahoor Ahmed and Mushtaq Ahmed. The two have alleged that a top official of the university who allegedly made these appointments has made his fortune in the construction business of the university. The two, both of whom have claimed to be residents of Rajouri, have demanded in-depth probe into the affairs of university affairs. They have claimed of having taken up the issue with concerned quarters while adding that nobody seemed interested in this regard. They have stated that money spent on this university comes from religious institution and hence, officials should have ensured that it does not go waste. The duo has claimed that corrupt practices of the officials of the university can be gauged from the fact that some of the officials of university have made properties worth crores of rupees only after joining the university. |
