NC-Cong blackmailing country through the game of politicking: Chaman | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 4: The former Union Minister Chaman Lal Gupta has denounced the highly objectionable utterances of the National Conference leaders while spitting at their bedfellow viz. the Congress but for their petty political ends to serve their ends. In this game, he alleged attempt is being made to blackmail the country as a whole though their quarrel is with the Congress, which is known for greed for power even at the cost of national interests. Referring to the statements of National Conference Leaders that the accession of the state to India was temporary, conditional or even a political issue, Gupta said that legally as well constitutionally, J&K is integral part of India. To challenge the finality of this accession is not only against the law of the land but the treacherous too. It is surprising that the National Conference leaders are indulging in such unlawful utterances ignoring the fact that they are under oath of the constitution by virtue of which they have been enjoying power and the provisions of constitution and that of the law are very clear that no one has the right to challenge the Accession and the integrity of the country. Gupta questioned the NC leadership for joining the hands with same Congress to whom their founding father; late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah had been describing the Congressmen as “insects of the dirty lanes”. He said that the history is witness to the fact that whenever the Congress and NC were in their marriage of convenience for power, they brought sufferings and miseries for the people of this State and harmed the interests of the country, whether it was in early 50’s, 1975, 1982 or 1986 and even now. He hoped that good senses would prevail and the NC leaders would refrain from trying to unsettle the issues which have already been settled and also targeting the Indian Army, which have made tremendous sacrifices to defend J&K as integral part of the Country against terrorism and invasion of Pakistan. They should understand that they are there but for the sacrifices of the security forces without which they cannot survive even for a day.
