Khajuria takes over as principal Sanskrit Sansthan | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Nov 4: Yash Pal Khajuria has taken over the charge as the Principal of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Sh. Ranbir Camups, Kot Bhalwal, Jammu. He took over the charge from Prof. Vishwa Murti Shastri who retired as principal of the campus on Oct. 31, 2011. Yash Pal Khajuria has the proud distinction of being the senior-most professor, not only in the Campus, but also in the Sansthan as a whole. Born on 10 February, 1950 at Gurha Salathia in Samba District, Khajuria did his initial schooling from the Govt. High School, Gurha Salathia. He did his Shastri from Shri Raghunath Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya in 1968 and Acharya from Shri Sampoornanad Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Varanasi in 1971. He was awarded Ph. D. in 1990 by Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delh, for his research thesis, ‘Syntactical Criticism from the perspective of Grammar and Linguistics. Khajuria joined Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan in October, 1972 as Research Assistant. He became Lecturer in Grammar in 1978, Reader in Grammar in 1987 and Professor in Grammar in 2002. Khajuria has authored several books which include; Topography of Kashmir (Bhringeesh Samhita, published thesis), Kashmir Shaiv Darshan Shabda Brihadkosha, 2 Vols. besides several articles. He has also attended two World Sanskrit Conferences and is member of the academic council and Board of Management of Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi. He is also a Visiting Fellow in Jaganath Sanskrit University in Orissa and Member, Syllabus Committee, Uttarakhanda University, Haridwar. He is also the Founder President of J&K Sanskrit Academy since 1996.
