| There was a time when a person uttering a single word in favor of India was slaughtered, his/ her throat was slit in the state of Jammu and Kashmir on behest of those who themselves now have declared India as their most favored nation ( MFN). No doubt, this is an unavoidable reality which they had to accept at one stage . Now the time has come when i can also say it fearlessly that India is my favorite nation . In the past twenty two years of unrest in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, hundreds of political and social activists and thousands of others were killed by the militants in the state of Jammu and Kashmir labeling them as an agents of India . The crime and sin of those
killed was only that they might have spoken any word in favor of India On such killings , Pakistan media used to report that a " Bharti Agent" has been killed by freedom fighters . No doubt , the decision taken by Pakistan government on November 3, 2011 to grant India the most favored nation (MFN) is a welcome step and it is the reality which Pakistan has accepted that India is a big market in the present world . It is not Pakistan only which has realized this reality , even the most powerful nation of the world US has also accepted this reality . This was evident from the recent visit of US president Barak Hussain Obama to India when he sought jobs for his citizens in Indian market. It is also fact that in the present world the future of any country can be gauged with the economy of the country and value of its currency in international market . Even the long wars can afford only those countries having sufficient and sound economic position . In this context , if looked honestly and impartially , the present economical condition of Pakistan is no secret . Though , the silent hands of US might have played a major role in forcing the Pakistan to accord India as MFN , but it also can not be denied that Pakistan was itself compelled to have good relations with it first neighbor. Though Pakistan has tried to give an impression that the decision taken by it was only in respect of trade and business and tried to clarify that there will be no impact of their business ties on Kashmir . But the observers say that it was just an attempt of face saving by Pakistan before the Kashmiries. However, Pakis-tan's most favored Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani has termed the decision of Pakistan as " rubbing salt" on their wounds . With his reaction , Geelani has almost clarified that Pakistan has deceived them . The decision is definitely like " rubbing salt" on their wounds for those who have been fighting against India in Jammu Kashmir on behest of Pakistan only . With this decision of Pakistan, the Pro Pak forces in the state have been demoralized and now they have no argument to convince any one in favor of the country which is itself in favor of India .
The decision of Pakistan to accord India as MFN is the lesson for those who have killed thousands of the people in the state of Jammu and Kashmir mere for a doubt of having their soft corner with India . This is perhaps the first time that Pakistan has declared India as the MFN officially . No doubt , India has won diplomatic battle and it has forced its traditional rival to accept the defeat with out fighting war on ground . It is also happy moment for those who have been saying same for decades but they were never heard . The decision has also given clear message to the Kashmiri leaders that Pakistan can not afford more enmity with India . There fore , Kashmiries must give re look their thought and should go for deal with India. It very much childish to think that the decision taken by Pakistan relates to only business and trade . Declaring any country MFN status covers all aspects and relations . It is also childish to think that one can carry business with the other party along with hate and enmity . |
