Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 4: CPM State Secretary and MLA Kulgam MY Tarigami who has been a supporter of the NC led coalition government today presented a grim picture of latter's performance and said it was 'under scanner' on all fronts. On what can be read as a caution note, Tarigami said if the government fails to rectify its errors and mistakes, it shall have to face 'consequences'.
"It is high time and they must do it before it gets too late…..", Tarigami said while speaking to media here today. The CPM leaders said there is nothing to be celebrated in the report card of the coalition during the last three years. "If we give a cursory look at the performance of the NC led coalition during the last three years it is certainly far from being satisfactory…..", he said observing the government has not met aspirations and expectations of the masses. There is still time to come on the right track but it looks far fetched given the existing political situation in the state. " There is bold writing on the wall……they must decipher it or else it will get too late", Tarigami said without specifying the connotations the expression 'late'.
Elaborating his point he said the situation in the state is 'alarming' and the government is 'under-scanner'.The government , he asserted should read writing on the wall or else face consequences. It is high time they understand it, take corrective measures before it gets too late. ....he asserted adding that the government should learn lessons from its past as the situation at present is alarming. The CPM leader substantiating his point said government instead of paying attention to the people oriented issues is busy in 'settling' other issues. In the process priority towards governance has suffered badly, which is why they are under scanner .It is high time they now pay attention to the issues of the government or else get ready to face the consequences, he asserted.
However, he supported the government move to get AFSPA revoked from some areas of the state contending that there was visible improvement in the situation now across the state . "No nation or state can take pride in getting Army or forces deputed on account of turmoil……there it must be understood in right perspective", Tarigami said adding that at the same revocation of AFSPA should not be allowed to be made a political weapon or political gimmick.
