BAJ condemns Govt policy regarding fresh recruitment | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, November-05 - Bar Association Jammu in a meeting presided by its President advocate BS Salathia to discuss formulation of new recruitment policy by the Govt of J&K in restricting the basic pay of a fresh recruit to only 50% for the first two years and 75% for next three years. The Members of the BAJ showed concerned over the reducing the monthly emoluments of a fresh recruit even after extracting full-time work from a fresh recruit. President BAJ while demanding a review of the new recruitment rules stressed that the reduction in the monthly salaries of the fresh recruits in Govt service sans any plausible rational particularly when the cost of dignified living as protected by the constitution of India and that of J&K has risen spirally. BAJ took exception to the administration’s putting off the negotiation with the student community over the issue and urged the Govt to consider the concerns of the students community in particular and society in general. BAJ cautioned that the brutal use of force against the student community is strongly condemnable as no authority in a democratic set-up can choke the voice of people representing their grievances in a peaceful manner. BAJ President urged the Govt to review its new recruitment policy in the wake of tremendous resentment and consequent unrest in the student community. He further said that any delay on the part of Govt in mitigating the grievance of students against the recruitment policy can turn the events which could take an ugly turn and it should be the endeavor of the Govt to respond to the situation positively. At this occasion number of advocates including office bearers of the Bar Association spoke.
