BJP questions separate flag for JK | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Nov 5:The “Jan Jagran Yatra” launched by BJP passed through Arnia, Saimoal, Nekowal, Beaspur, Kalyana, Salehar, Chouhala, RS Pura and Miran Sahib today. BJP National Executive Member & MLA Ashok Khajuria, along with State Vice-President Chander Prakash Ganga, Yatra Incharge & State General Secretary Sat Sharma, District President Jasbir Singh Lucky and Suchetgarh MLA Shyam Choudhary, addressed a series of public meetings. At a number of places, the yatra was given warm reception by the local people. While addressing the public, Ashok Khajuria questioned the existence of a separate flag parallel to the Tricolor adding that like other states of the country, Jammu and Kashmir too is an integral part of India and there is no need of a separate flag. When tricolor alone is hoisted in every state, why does J&K has two flags? He said it is the provision of Article 370 in the Indian Constitution which gave courage to the Kashmir-centric leaders of NC to have a state flag along with Tricolor. He said its not only the separate flag but separate constitution too which have been adopted here. The BJP is of the view that the separate symbol of flag has been inducing a sense of separatism in the minds of Kashmiri people. We have been opposing separate flag and the day is not far when “Hal wala jhanda” will not be visible. Speaking on the occasion, Chander Prakash Ganga said that the NC-Congress coalition under Omar Abdullah has been taking one decision after the other which have been inviting resentment and anger from the masses but no one in the Congress dares to utter a single word against decisions of Kashmiri leaders. For all the miseries and problems facing Jammu in particular, it is the Congress which is responsible as this party do not bother to think of the masses but works to appease the Kashmiri masters. Sat Sharma said how unfortunate it is that Jammu and Kashmir government has announced a very strange Recruitment Policy which perhaps does not exist in any part of the country.
Shyam Choudhary said that 80 precent population of India lives in villages and that’s why it is said that real India lives in villages but still these areas have not been treated at par with the urban ones.
