Double blind murder case challanned

JAMMU, Nov 5:Police today challaned a double blind murder case committed at Sadhota area of Pancheri in district Udhampur within a record time of 55 days.
It may be recalled that during the intervening night of September 6 and 7 last, an aged woman namely Krishni Devi wife of late Seetu along with her adopted child (son of her daughter) around 9 and half years old were brutally murdered with sharp edged weapons about 15 feet from her residence at Sadhota area under the jurisdiction of police station Panceari.
The said blind double murder was solved in a record time by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Rajinder Gupta, Addl S P Udhampur.
Rajinder Gupta Addl SP had camped at the said remote location and cracked the double murder case.
The strenuous efforts of the police finally paid off as it managed to arrest the persons involved in committing the crime.
Police have arrested five accused identified as Prem Nath, Sita Ram Krishan Chand, Guddi Ram, all sons of Massu Ram and Babu Ram son of Sita Ram.
On their disclosure, weapons of offence including axe, sickle, Toka and blood stained clothes of the accused persons were recovered and seized.
During investigation the motive behind the double murder was established that the deceased Krishni Devi had no male child and had adopted her daughter’s son and accused persons being her nephew’s had an eye over her land and other property. In furtherance of their intention of grabbing the said land, the said persons hatched a criminal conspiracy to get rid of the deceased (Aunt) and her adopted son as the accused had fear of losing the land to the adopted son. In order to grab the land they murdered both of them.
After the completion of all legal required formalities the case FIR No. 38/2011 U/S 302/449/147/148/149/120B RPC was challaned today in the Court of CJM Udhampur against the above mentioned five accused persons.
