CK Nayudu U-22 Cricket Tournament | Sahil’s 5-wkt haul puts J&K in comfort zone against Assam | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 6: Aided by a brilliant 5-wicket haul by speedster Sahil Sharma, Jammu and Kashmir today gained a first innings lead of 68 runs over Assam in the 4-day match of Col CK Nayudu Under-22 Cricket Tournament at Gwahati, today. In the second innings J&K were comfortably placed at 146 for the loss of three wickets at stumps on day 2, courtesy—good knocks from Shubam Khajuria, Siddharth Magotra, Bandeep Singh and skipper Aditya Pratap Singh. Earlier, resuming their first innings from 2 for the loss of one wicket in reply to J&K’s total of 184 runs, the whole side of Assam crumbled against the disciplined bowling display by J&K bowlers, especially the trio of pace-man Sahil Sharma, Off Spinner Aamir Mehraj and Leg Spinner Manik Gupta, who scalped 5, 3 and 2 wickets respectively to bundle out the entire side for a paltry total of 116 runs, thus gaining a lead of 68 runs. Meanwhile, J&K were in a comfort zone in the second essay at 146 for 3 with good contributions from Shubam Khajuria (46), Sidharth Magotra (46) while Bandeep Singh and Aditya Pratap Singh were unbeaten on 22 and 25 runs respectively. J&K were 214 runs ahead of Assam with two days of the match remaining.
