| 12th RR sponsors cricket match at Budgam | | DC distributes prizes among teams | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Budgam , Nov 6: The 12th Rashtriya Rifles (RR) organised a cricket match at Sports Stadium Budgam; between Calcutta team of Indian Federation of Rotarians and Budgam 11 today.
The District Development Commissioner Budgam, Mohammmad Rafi was the Chief Guest on the occasion who also gave away prizes among the participating cricket teams.
The sector Commander 12 RR, Brigadier Shavinder Singh was also present on the occasion.
A large number of Sports lovers, local people and the children of “Apna Ghar” Beerwah were also present to witness the interesting match.
Speaking on the occasion, Rafi asked the youth to take part in extracurricular activities alongside academic and professional education adding that the sports inculcate discipline and spirit of mutual understanding.
“In addition the sports are necessary for body building and mental health”, Rafi added. He appreciated RR move for organising sports events in different parts of the district for promoting the talent of youth.
