Delhi women thrash J&K by 156 runs | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 6: Riding on good knocks from Test cricketers Anjum Chopra and Jaya Sharma, Delhi women cricket team thrashed the hosts Jammu and Kashmir today by 156 runs in the senior women’s limited overs tie played at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here. Batting first, after winning the toss, DDCA set a big total of 273 runs for the loss of four wickets in given 50 overs, which, in reply, J&K could not chase and exhausted their quota for 117 runs with two wickets in hand. Test cricketer Anjum Chopra played unbeaten innings of 57 runs while her counterpart Jaya Sharma made 78 runs including some crispy boundaries. From J&K, medium pace bowler Ankita Jalla took two wickets while Payal Choudhary and Rubia Sayeed shared apiece each. Later, J&K could not chase the total and were bundled-out for a paltry total of 117 runs in 50 overs for the loss of eight wickets. Ravinder Kour was top scorer with unbeaten 31 runs while Anju Choudhary and Payal Choudhary contributed 28 and 15 runs respectively. Nusrat Jan was other batswoman who could score in double figure with 12 runs in her account. From DDCA, Reema Malhotra was most successful bowler, who scalped four important wickets.
